Early October typically offers some of the best snorkelling conditions of the year with good visibility, fully established kelp forests, and calm conditions. The sun also sets early allowing for evening star gazing. 

Dr. Ellison’s work largely focuses on understanding galaxy evolution through cosmic time, largely focuses on understanding galaxy evolution through cosmic time, with a particular focus on galaxy collisions and black holes. Meanwhile, her personal interest in snorkelling led her to write the book ‘Snorkelling Adventures Around Vancouver Island & the Gulf Islands: The Ultimate Guide.’

Dr. Willis’s research has taken him to some of the remotest corners of our planet to learn about the origins of life on Earth and how best to search for alien life beyond it; he has written the book ‘All These Worlds Are Yours: The Scientific Search for Alien Life.’

Throughout the stay, our guests will have the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions and hands-on activities focused on ocean appreciation, underwater photography, and better understanding astrophysical phenomena.
