Summer’s Here – Longest Days and Best Tides

Share

Throughout the year,  the moon’s journey around the Earth and the Earth’s revolution around the Sun combine to make unique combinations. In late June we have the longest days of the year combined with great tides for coastal exploring by foot, kayak, or boat. Not only are the tides very low, they occur mid-morning allowing time for us to enjoy exploring within our normal activity schedule. The timing and magnitude of the tides allow us to access parts of the coastline by foot that are otherwise impassable while exploring tidepools the size of a backyard swimming pool.

This unique combination also allows for viewing bears feeding on the intertidal abundance with our kayaks or boat. In addition to all of the intertidal wonders, the long days provide opportunities for evening sunset cruises, after dinner recreation, and fully enjoying the daily rhythms of the tides from the comfort of the lodge.

Your all-inclusive stay includes all guided activities and boat excursions, kayak, SUP, and snorkelling equipment, chef-prepared meals, and lodge amenities.
