World Ocean Week – Ocean Conservation on the BC Coast

Share

Each year, World Ocean Day is celebrated around the globe with the goal of catalyzing collective action for a healthy ocean and a stable climate, working in collaboration with youth leaders and a wide range of organizations.

In 2024, we’ll celebrate World Ocean “Week” by having a couple of ocean conservation experts join us at Outer Shores Lodge, including Dr. Rebecaa Martone, who is the Executive Director of the Ocean Decade Collaborative Centre of the Northeastern Pacific, and our very own Dr. Russell Markel. Rebecca and Russell will share their insights into ocean conservation concerns and ongoing initiatives on the BC coast, as well as lead some fun shore and boat-based excursions.

Over the course of the week, we’ll conduct a marine debris survey/ collection events along a remote beach, during which we’ll see and learn about the issue of marine debris and ocean plastics and contribute to a citizen-science project.

Your all-inclusive stay includes all guided activities and boat excursions and, kayak, SUP, and snorkelling equipment, chef-prepared meals, and lodge amenities.

We hope you’ll join us!
